A Slice of Serenity in the Hudson Valley: Hasbrouck House

“I miss the Hasbrouck House,” I said a moment ago while scrolling through photos from my trip to this beautiful stone mansion getaway.

Set in the Hudson Valley hamlet of Stone Ridge, NY, the Hasbrouck House is such a charmer. The hotel itself stretches across four historic buildings and includes a delicious farm-to-table restaurant, outdoor pool, bocce court, archery, and a casual daytime restaurant for snacks and drinks.

As soon as we opened the bold red door to the main stone house hotel, I was taken with the coziness and luxuriousness of the space. I grabbed a few gratuitous bug bite pocket wipes and granola bars for guests and headed up the stairs to our room, which had the most comfortable setup. From the buttery linens on the beds and the champagne awaiting our arrival, to the 18th century barn door that led out to a shared patio, the thoughtfulness behind the Hasbrouck team and their dedication to preserving the historic nuances of the architecture is admirable.

Hasbrouck House is inherently low key and elegant, which makes it a strong candidate for any anniversary trips, romantic getaways, girlfriend gatherings, or even a company retreat. My boyfriend was super stoked on the free archery, the sheer number of campfires, and the bucket of rose and hamburgers. The kitchen made food for us on the first night even though we had just technically missed the window to dine at Butcher & Bar. As I’ve intimated: GREAT HOSPITALITY here!

If you do stay at Hasbrouck or even if you find yourself in the Hudson Valley region, do yourself a favor and make a reservation for dinner at Hasbrouck’s on-site restaurant Butterfield. We feasted on steak, fish, delicious focaccia bread, microgreens, and martinis. The crowd was super refined and the service was the best I’ve had dining upstate--which is saying a lot because as any local knows, finding great servers in upstate, NY isn’t for the faint of heart.

Although we stayed during a gorgeous summer weekend, next time I go to Hasbrouck will certainly be in the fall. The hotel exudes a cozy, fire-side, almost European-style vibe that definitely thrives during the fall and winter months. Think sweaters, hot toddies, flannel blankets, and falling snow.

Looking towards the fall, Hasbrouck House will be playing Hocus Pocus for Halloween for their outdoor movie series! Count me in.
